Wing Shya

Bloc Productions is proud and excited to welcome one of Asia’s great talents, photographer and director Wing Shya. Wing, originally began his career as a graphic designer, studying at the Emily Carr institute of Art and Design in Canada, on his return to Hong Kong he opened his graphic design and photography studio Shya-la-la Workshop. Wing went on to be the exclusive photographer for the Wong Kar Wai, creating the iconic film stills for ‘Happy Together”, ‘In the Mood for Love’, ‘Eros’ and ‘2046’.

Wing contributes to numerous fashion and art magazines including Vogue, Numero, Tank and ID to name a few. His commercial clients include the likes of GAP, Aquascutum, Nike and L’Oreal.

Aside from photography, Wing Shya is also a recognised director. He has directed several music videos for artists such as Karen Mok, Eason Chan, Jacky Cheung and Vanessa Mae, TVC commercials and feature lengths films including the hit ‘Hot Summer Days’.
